Breighlynn Monét Polk

Breighlynn M. Polk is a native of New Iberia who received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Clark Atlanta University in 2017. With research interests in oral history, anthropology, and, ethnography, Breighlynn’s goal is to expand the historical knowledge and awareness of local, marginalized communities in the rural South through the  preservation of personal narratives and experiences. In the effort to contribute to the growing collection of oral histories, she conducted current-day interviews with members of Iberia Parish’s Black community, which you can listen to and view below. She received her M.A in American Studies from Kennesaw State University in May of 2023.
