We are reopening for tours on Saturday, October 16! Since closing in March 2020 due to the coronavirus, our staff has been busy behind the scenes researching, addressing delayed maintenance issues, and applying for grants to help us better fulfill our mission. Through these efforts, the Shadows will reopen with a new and improved tour program that includes a variety of viewpoints to tell a more complete story of the site.
We will be open from 10 AM to 4 PM with a special tour rate of $5 for adults and seniors, $3 for ages 6-17 and students with college ID, and free for children under 6. Tours will begin at the Shadows Visitor Center (320 E. Main Street) every 20 minutes from 10 AM to 1 PM and 3 PM to 4 PM.
Tour availability is limited. Visitors are advised to purchase tickets online. Guided tours also include a self-paced through the Shadows gardens, where visitors will find six interpretive signs with more history and images of artifacts and archival photos.
Masks are required on all tours and when unable to social distance in the gardens.
