For Artists

The Shadows-on-the-Teche Plein Air Painting Competition takes place in early March. Throughout competition week, artists are allowed to paint throughout seven parishes in the Acadiana region that includes a variety of viewscapes from bayous and cane fields, to live oaks and azaleas, to boats and historic houses. Each night, we try to provide a space for artists to gather, enjoy a good meal, and unwind from a day of painting.
