The 8th annual Shadows-on-the-Teche Plein Air Competition takes place Saturday, March 12 to Friday, March 18. The 28 artists selected by judge Mark Boedges will paint en plein air in seven parishes in Acadiana: Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion.

The public is invited to travel around during the week, watching artists paint and asking questions about the art of plein air painting.

Artists can paint as many paintings as they wish from Saturday, March 12 to Thursday, March 17. Artists’ work painted throughout the week will be exhibited and available for sale at the Shadows Visitor Center (320 E. Main Street). Competition winners will be announced, and prizes awarded on Friday, March 18 at 7 p.m.
