Richie Vios, award winning plein air artist, will host a two-day plein air workshop for intermediate to advanced level artists who want to learn the art of plein air (outdoor) painting. As a plein air artist, Richie shares how to be a successful plein air artist by simplifying the watercolor process into the essential elements, guiding each artist for a better understanding of the watercolor medium through live demonstrations, and creating a process at their skill level, pace, medium, and subject matter. Richie demonstrates how the four pillars of a good watercolor painting and an understanding of the Watercolor Consistency called "Watercolor Clock," lead to a more truthful work of art that is full of passion. Richie will help you develop your skills, painting visualization, and become the confident plein air artist that you want to be.

About Richie Vios:
Richie Vios was born and raised in the Philippines. He is a licensed Architect turned plein air watercolor artist. Now based in Austin, Texas he travels all over the United States to compete in plein air events leading watercolor workshops along the way. Richie is a faculty of the 2022 Watercolor Live and 2022 Teaching Faculty at the Plein Air Convention and Expo in Santa Fe, NM. Richie believes that the mark of a good artist is to capture the different facets of life in a painting—the mode, ambiance, etc. In a sense, not just illustrating or recording what he sees but expressing what he feels. The subject in front of him is his inspiration, complementing his imagination, and being charged with his passion and a personal artistic impression embodied in his watercolor works.
