Screening of Green Book

  • The Grand Theatre 1000 Parkview Drive New Iberia, LA, 70563 United States (map)

The Bayou Teche Museum, The Iberia African American Historical Society, and the Shadows-on-the-Teche are partnering to present a series of programming related to the history of The Negro Motorist Green Book.

We invite you to join us for a screening of Green Book, the Academy Award-winning motion picture, at the Grand Theatre in New Iberia. Green Book is inspired by the true story of a tour of the Deep South by African American classical and jazz pianist Don Shirley and Italian American bouncer Frank "Tony Lip" Vallelonga who served as Shirley's driver and bodyguard. The film stars Viggo Mortensen as Tony Lip and Mahershala Ali as Dr. Donald Shirley. At the 91st Academy Awards, Green Book won Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Ali. The film is rated PG-13.

Green Book is FREE to attend. Simply let the person at the door know that you are there to see Green Book, and you will be directed to the appropriate theater.

Attendees MUST WEAR MASKS inside the theater.
